Experienced Estimator needed for General Contractor, Fayetteville, NC area.
This is a temp-to-perm ESTIMATOR position intended to lead to direct hire. This position reports to the Chief Estimator. Coordinates with full disclosure all transfer specifications, requirements and performance strategies to the field operations departments at time of "hand off" of all new job awards to insure successful performance of jobs. Reports to the Chief Estimator the gross margins, profit and performance incentives in the completion and negotiations of all bids whether annual contract, unit price or competitive bid.
Education:
Bachelor Degree preferred in Civil Engineering or other Construction discipline.
Licensing:
-OSHA 30 Safety program
- Current CPR / First Aid Certificate
Experience:
Must have 5+ years Superintendent type experience in the construction industry. Experience with heavy construction, municipal projects, tunneling, foundation work and military installations is preferred. Must have experience in management of Superintendents, Foremen, work crews, machinery utilization, and purchasing equipment and materials. Must have experience managing people and inter-department relations in the company.
Skills:
- Fluent in written and spoken English, Spanish helpful as second language.
- Excellent working knowledge of MS Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Project, and QUEST estimating software.
- Excellent math skills for preparing estimates.
- Sufficient technical skill in the industry to interpret customer engineering specifications and estimates for changes, and assist the Chief Engineer in preparing quotations.
Knowledge:
- Must have knowledge of blueprints, developing estimates and managing implementation of those jobs.
- Interface relationships with specific state, city, local, and federal government departments of construction.
- Knowledge of tools, equipment strengths and weaknesses in controlling rate of work and safety controls. Knowledge of traffic control and job-site planning.
- ABILITY TO HANDLE MULTIPLE TASKS AND JOBS CONCURRENTLY.
